China has become the main trading partner of Kazakhstan, surpassing Russia. This is reported by the portal inbusiness .kz with reference to the republic's data on foreign trade.

It is noted that by June the share of China in foreign trade operations of Kazakhstan reached 19.2 per cent, while the share of Russia was 18.8 per cent.
According to the customs of Kazakhstan, from January to May the volume of trade with China increased by 21.6 per cent in monetary terms, to $ 10.7 billion. It is noted that in the same period of 2022 trade turnover was $8.8 billion.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan, last year Sino-Kazakh trade grew by a third, approaching $ 24 billion, which is two billion dollars less than the volume of trade with Russia. Those, in turn, also grew in 2022, but not as significantly.
