UK government will cap electricity prices for households - Bloomberg

This benefit will be in effect for two years in order to prevent a recession in the country. The measure could cost the government $120 billion and will be one of the largest peacetime interventions in England's history.

The amount of the cap would be determined by the average electricity bill in recent years. Families would also receive £400 in help to pay their receipts.
