"The White House is aware of the Silvergate situation," spokeswoman

White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre commented on the situation surrounding the Silvergate crypto-bank at a press briefing:

"So, we are aware of the situation and are following the news. I won't comment specifically on Silvergate. But apparently it's just one of the cryptocurrency companies that has faced significant problems."

"As you know, the president has repeatedly urged Congress to take steps to protect ordinary Americans from the risks posed by digital assets. And he will continue to do so," she added.
