Russians are shifting to a more frugal model of consumption, - says Igor Karavaev, president of the Association of Retail Companies (AKORT)
"Buyers began to choose low-price goods more often and are increasingly focused on discounts," said Karavaev.
At the same time, the structure of expenditures of Russians has changed: a year ago, non-food products prevailed, and in July 2022, the main share of spending (38%) was on food.
"There is still a steady high demand for dairy and meat products, alcoholic beverages and confectionery, especially chocolate," Karavaev added.
