Qatar's liquefied natural gas production has declined this year, despite requests from European countries to increase production. The country's exports from January to May amounted to 35 million tons of LNG against 36 million in the same period last year.

EU countries are trying to negotiate with Qatar for additional supplies. Rejection of Russian energy carriers requires concluding contracts with new suppliers, but the Qatari authorities are not in a hurry yet. It is impossible to increase production now, it is necessary to wait for the construction of new facilities.
