Eggs named as one of the causes of inflation in Turkey - Bloomberg

Rising food prices are a key factor in the underlying inflation in Turkey, which in June approached the annual rate of 80%. Antimonopoly agencies have already imposed a number of fines on chain stores, and now egg producers are under attack for doubling their prices.

Turkish egg producers say they had no choice but to raise prices. The double blow of soaring global inflation and a weaker lira makes imports more expensive.
