Cryptocurrencies should be treated as securities by default - EU report

Cryptocurrencies should be treated as securities by default and DAOs should be given legal status, according to a study commissioned by lawmakers.

The report writes that all crypto-assets should be treated as securities and therefore subject to the strict EU governance and authorization rules that apply to traditional stocks and bonds, unless a national regulator determines otherwise.
