US startup mines bitcoins on rubbish

Nodal Power, a startup that mines bitcoin from rubbish, has announced  that it has raised $13m.

The firm aims to reduce the amount of methane in landfills by converting the gas into electricity. Most of it is channelled into the grid and the excess is used to run mining farms.
