The SEBI Saga
Between 2006 and 2013, Ramann served in a pivotal capacity at the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), transitioning from Chief General Manager to Executive Director. His tenure at SEBI highlighted his prowess in regulatory frameworks that have since become instrumental to his strategic initiatives at PFRDA.

Guiding PFRDA’s Mission
The monumental task at hand is to fortify India’s pension framework, ensuring retirement security for millions. As stated in the Finance Ministry’s strategic outlook, Ramann’s vast experience in public finance and regulation will be invaluable. The ministry envisions strengthening the National Pension System (NPS), which already boasts an impressive corpus of ₹14.4 lakh crore and 8.4 crore subscribers. According to Zee News, this structure has become a linchpin of India’s pension landscape.
Challenges and Opportunities
With 19% of the Indian population projected to be elderly by mid-century, Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, underscores the necessity of secure pension schemes.
