PenderFund Welcomes Greg Taylor: A New Era in Investment Strategy

A New Leader at the Helm

PenderFund Capital Management Ltd. is thrilled to announce the appointment of Greg Taylor as its new Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Taylor’s entry into Pender marks a promising new chapter for the firm, with his extensive experience and insightful approach poised to drive significant growth.

Greg Taylor’s Track Record of Excellence

With more than two decades in the industry, Taylor previously played a pivotal role at a Toronto-based asset management firm. There, he was instrumental in escalating the firm’s assets from \(3 billion to over \)24 billion. His strategic insight and leadership were key assets in his previous roles at LOGiQ Asset Management and Front Street Capital.

Steering a Dynamic Investment Strategy

In his new role at Pender, Taylor will oversee the investment team, deploy robust portfolio management strategies, and manage investment risk — a comprehensive approach aligning with Pender’s long-term philosophy. According to David Barr, CEO of Pender, Taylor’s expertise is well-suited to lead the firm’s deep-rooted investment culture, known for its pursuit of better-than-beta returns.

Transition and Future Changes

The transition also entails Pender taking over as the sub-advisor for the Purpose Select Equity Fund, a fund that Taylor has managed with finesse since its launch in 2006. This switch, occurring around May 20, is expected to continue without altering the Fund’s objectives or strategies.

A Farewell and New Beginnings

Taylor’s appointment comes on the heels of Felix Narhi’s departure, Pender’s previous CIO, who returned to investing full time to enhance the firm’s equity portfolios.

As Taylor steps into this role, the investment world watches with anticipation. How will his seasoned insights shape Pender’s direction?

As stated in Wealth Professional Canada, Taylor looks forward to working closely with Pender’s investment team, bringing renewed energy and vision. His stepping into the role of CIO marks not just a change of leadership but a continuation and expected expansion of Pender’s successful investment journey.
