Disney plans to buy UFC

Disney has held talks with the UFC to acquire the league for about $4.3 billion. According to CNBC sources, the company has been "mulling the idea of buying sports leagues for years."

Disney's previous CEO proved to be a good fit with its acquisitions of Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel, but it was unable to reach a deal with the UFC. Interaction with the league was limited to temporary deals for content rights.
