Celsia's Ambitious Solar and Wind Initiative: A $1.2 Billion Investment Call

Celsia seeks massive investment to power transformative solar and wind projects set to redefine Peru's renewable landscape.

Celsia's Ambitious Solar and Wind Initiative: A $1.2 Billion Investment Call

In the quest to revolutionize Peru’s renewable energy landscape, Colombian energy supplier Celsia unveils a monumental ambition: a call for over US$1.2 billion in investments. This bold move aims to foster 1.2GW of solar and wind projects, illuminating the future of clean energy across the nation.

Peru: A Land of Opportunity for Renewable Energy

Ricardo Sierra, CEO of Celsia, confidently posits Peru as a fertile ground for renewable investments due to its macroeconomic stability and abundance in natural resources. The planned projects, expected to be operational by 2028, will fundamentally reshape Peru’s energy demographics by tapping into these promising resources.

Celaris Energy: A New Dawn for Industrial Power

As part of this initiative, Celsia plans to introduce Celaris Energy, a groundbreaking platform dedicated to supplying Peru’s industrial sector with electricity sourced exclusively from solar and wind. Backed by the 20MW Manta hydroelectric power plant in Ancash, this venture promises a consistent and wholly renewable supply line.

Expanding Horizons with 1GW Goal

Celsia’s broader vision doesn’t stop at Peru. With an existing 339MW capacity and another 300MW under construction in Colombia, the company seeks to broaden its horizon to achieve 1GW in operational solar PV and wind capacity in its home country by 2027.

A Proven Track Record with Diverse Projects

Recently marking its footprint in Colombia, Celsia acquired a 375MW solar PV portfolio which includes the eminent 100MW Andrómeda project, the 100MW Pollux project, and the significant 175MW Aries project. The Andrómeda project, nearing its construction start, showcases Celsia’s capability in securing essential interconnection infrastructures.

Investing in a Sustainable Future

Celsia invites investors to envisage a sustainable, resilient future for Peru’s energy market. Through the International Renewable Energy Certificate (IREC) seal, customers can ensure their wind and solar consumption’s traceability, solidifying the commitment to environmental sustainability.

According to PV Tech, this initiative exemplifies a pivotal step in reshaping the Latin American renewable energy landscape, promising profound impacts in the years to come.

With these visionary initiatives, Celsia aims not only to transform Peru and Colombia’s energy outputs but also to set a benchmark for Latin America’s renewable infrastructure.
