Shanghai takes measures to support economy - Reuters

Shanghai authorities will lift many conditions for businesses to resume operations from Wednesday: easing a citywide quarantine and introducing policies to support the affected economy, a city official said.

The city will reduce taxes on passenger car purchases to encourage car consumption. A subsidy of 10,000 yuan will also be available for people who want to switch to an electric car.

Authorities will seek to help companies affected by the quarantine by allowing them to defer insurance payments and rent and by offering subsidies for utility bills.
