The country is one of Europe's leading exporters of electricity. One fifth of its production goes to its neighbors. However, the growing energy crisis in the EU is forcing the Norwegian authorities to think about their future.
Consumption of importing countries is growing. The Norwegian government is concerned about whether the country will be able to fill its own storage facilities for winter. The UK is most dependent on Norwegian exports. This means another energy threat looms over many European economies.
