AmRest Holding failed to sell KFC and Pizza Hut in Russia
Polish owner of fast food restaurants could not sell its Russian business in favor of VTB Capital. Under the management of AmRest in Russia there are 267 establishments. The deal was discussed even before the start of the special operation in Ukraine.
The sale was disrupted by sanctions against VTB. Now AmRest is looking for a new buyer. The Ukrainian crisis forced the company to offer a 50% discount as part of the deal.
On March 9, AmRest announced the temporary suspension of its operations in Russia. However, KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants continue to operate.
